Dont forget about tomorrow ...Wednesday, Feb. 8th, 2017

Where has the week gone? With all the rain lately, perhaps we will have an early Spring this year, (Groundhog Phil, your fired). I can assure you, the ticks sure think its Spring. However, none of that will affect the schedule tomorrow as we apprehend the Cordova Creek situation at the confluence of the American River. Just as every time before, hammerdirt California will be right there diligently capturing: data, photographs, anthropogenic debris(trash), water Ph values from both bodies, and wildlife reports from a human perspective. All this occurs at the point where the creek hits the river,(mile 15 on the bike trail, at the bridge behind Soil Born Farms)...

see map above. Also, currently underway, an ambitious project undertaken by several municipalities and community leaders, is the Cordova Creek Naturalization Project, so I post updates on the progress periodically. And as always, I post images of the scene... like these,

yes, Virginia, those are Chinook salmon, halfway up the creek, and accompanied by their "escorts".

The fun starts at 11:30 a.m. in the confluence of Cordova Creek and the American River, see you there!
