Update/reminder for November, 2016

Monitoring continues in the Cordova Creek spillway at the American River this week, at the usual time, Wednesday, November 9th, 11:30 a.m. Beginning this week, we are also including two more monitoring sites on the ARP, one at Buffalo Creek and the American River(under Sunrise Bridge, Rancho side), and the other at Ancil Hoffman Park( between Tarshes Dr. and the AR), details below.
The combined operations are the River Monitor Project:

Buffalo/Sunrise site

Not much buffer zone here, however, this is the most accessible site. Flows here are apparently constant, we will gather the data using our established, standardized methods.

                                               Outfall at Buf/Sun
                                          ....a familiar scene...

Ancil Hoffman Park

A storm water discharge basin intermittently directs run off (containing aquatic debris/visible litter) to the river, flow is not constant, but the terrain appears functional for catching some debris items, only rigorous and routine surveys will present the factual data

The "mouth" on the AR bank...

the top of the drainage basin, at the "bridge" on Tarshes Drive at the A. Hoffman golf course in the park.
Although a new blog is established for documentation of surveys, pics, and so on, this blog will continue to post survey updates, notices and results, same as before.
